British hit singer Roger Whittaker died last Wednesday at the age of 87. Record company Sony Music confirms this to the dpa press agency.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Roger Whittaker,” the singer’s family said in a statement. “Roger was an iconic artist, a wonderful husband and father. He touched so many hearts with his music and will live on in our memories forever.”
Whittaker’s biggest hits were Albany , The last farewell and I don’t believe in ‘if’ anymore . The British singer, who in addition to his voice, is also known for his whistling talents such as in his fully whistled songs such as Mexican whistler and Irish whistler made his last tour through Germany and Austria in 2013 where he was very popular.
