Comedian Ricky Gervais is one of the richest comedians in the world.
British comedian and original The Office creator Ricky Gervais, 61, earned no less than 1.6 million euros from his recent stand-up gig. Gervais’ gig fee was historic, as he is so far the only British comedian who has earned such a large fee for a single appearance.
Gervais’s hefty fee came from an appearance in Hollywood on May 6 as part of Armageddon You – tour. During his tour, the comedian also performed at the Helsinki Ice Hall at the beginning of March. He himself has joked about how he will retire after his tour, if he gets enough money from it.
Gervais’s fortune is otherwise not the meager one, as he is known to have earned more than 180 million euros during his career. Specially The Office has accumulated the man’s wealth, because in addition to the popular British version, the US version of the program was shown in America for no less than nine seasons.
