British murderer Levi Bellfield, who is serving life in prison for three murders, is said to have confessed other facts. He would have killed a mother and her daughter in 1996, according to the lawyer for the man who is in prison for those murders.
According to lawyer Paul Bacon, Bellfield confesses in a four-page document that he killed 45-year-old Lin Russell and her 6-year-old daughter Megan with a hammer in Kent, south-east England, in 1996. Another daughter, Josie, was seriously injured but survived.
“It is a comprehensive and honest confession,” the lawyer told Sky News. “I believe what he says and I think if the police interrogate him, he will eventually confess to the murders.” According to Sky News, Bellfield also describes details of the murder that, in principle, only the perpetrator can know.
The lawyer has spent 15 years trying to prove the innocence of Michael Stone, a drug addict who has always denied having anything to do with the 1996 murders. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the offenses.
Kent Police said in a press release that Michael Stone “remains convicted of the murders of Lin and Megan Russell, and the attempted murder of Josie Russell”.
The lawyer will give the document to the police. Bellfield says he is also responsible for the murder of Judith Gold, a mother of three who was beaten to death in 1990 in Hampstead, in north London, according to Sky News.
Bellfield, now 53, a former disco bouncer, is in prison for life. He was convicted of kidnapping and murdering 13-year-old Milly Dowler in 2002, and of murdering 19-year-old Marsha McDonnell in 2003 and 22-year-old French student Amélie Delagrange in 2004. attempted murder of then 18-year-old Kate Sheedy in 2004.
The police officer who led the investigation into Delagrange’s death said last year that he has no doubt that Bellfield committed many more offences.
