Brigitte Becue new elite coach Flemish Swimming Federation

Becue’s first important task will therefore be to guide the elite swimmers in Antwerp towards the important international tournaments, including the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. In addition, she will also prepare the next Olympiad

Under the leadership of general manager and technical director Lode Grossen and together with the other coaches, she will also follow up and steer the development of all athletes in top sports activities.

Knowledge and experience

“We look forward to working with Brigitte Becue. She definitely has the necessary knowledge and experience as a coach, but can also build on a long career as a top athlete,” says Lode Grossen.

Becue also has a view to the future: “I look forward to guiding talented, motivated swimmers, making them believe in themselves and helping them to perform to the maximum of their abilities.”

Rich swimming career

As a swimmer, Becue herself participated in the Olympic Games four times (1988, 1992, 1996 and 2000). She reached the final twice. She also won bronze at the 1994 World Championships, was European champion three times on the long track and twice on the short track.

As a coach, she was already working as a youth coach at the Flemish Swimming Federation until 2014. For the past three years she has been head coach at Leuven Aquatics
