German high-flyer Deniz Undav is moving from Belgian leaders Royale Union Saint-Gilloise to Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Englishman revealed the 25-year-old has signed a contract until 2026 but will continue to play on loan for the surprise Jupiler Pro League leaders in Belgium until the end of this season.
Both clubs have the same owner in British poker player Tony Bloom.
In 2020, striker Undav switched from third division club SV Meppen to the traditional club from the Brussels region, which was then still playing in the second Belgian division.
A few months after promotion, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise also leads the table in the first division with a nine-point lead over current champions Club Brugge. Undav is top of the goalscoring charts with 18 goals this season.
The Bundesliga clubs Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfL Wolfsburg are said to have been interested in the attacker.
