The bright pink container ship ONE Innovation docked in the port of Rotterdam for the first time today. Not only the hull of the 400 meter long ship has a striking color, the containers on it are also colored pink for once.
To celebrate the maiden voyage of the Japanese container ship, there is a special tour from FutureLand, the information center of the Port of Rotterdam Authority. The pink ship is met while on its way to her berth in the Princess Amaliahaven.
According to the Port of Rotterdam Authority, the color was not only chosen to stand out at sea, but also because it would bring good luck. According to an old Japanese tradition, families go out when the pink blossoms are on the cherry trees. With that, they usher in a prosperous period together.
