Everything through rose-colored glasses today in Tilburg, literally and figuratively. Because everywhere you look, it’s pink. The atmosphere is relaxed and cheerful, everyone feels like a party and celebrates it together. Pink Monday’s message: love and respect for everyone. And you feel (and see) that. We were there. Check out the photos and see how Pink Monday is celebrated.
For the first time in three years it is finally Pink Monday in Tilburg. A day when everyone parties, goes wild and celebrates who it is.
You don’t have to walk over the heads either, because on Monday afternoon there is enough space for everyone in the streets.
And it is natural to see and be seen. As soon as the first drag queens show up somewhere, everyone is ready to take a picture, preferably together with a number of beautifully dressed ladies.
The Pride Walk, a colorful procession of colored revelers, runs through the center on Monday. They draw attention to equality and acceptance of everyone. Or as one participant describes it: make a fist against narrow-mindedness!
That Pride Walk ends with a bang, just in front of the church at the Amstel Bierhal.
If you can’t get enough of extravagance at the Tilburg Kermis, report to the Stationsstraat, where various shows are given.
But in the meantime it is also ‘just’ fair. Wave and sway for young and old. For people dressed in pink and for drag queens. With or without your pet.
And some fair visitors were extra lucky on Monday. Like Zoë (13) from Tilburg. She won a giant bear. “And I hadn’t even put any money in it, there was something in it from someone else!”

Pink Monday is not only a huge fair party, it is also a statement that everyone can and may be themselves in Tilburg. And that’s how visitors feel too.
