Bridget Maasland uses her influence as an A-star to tackle Talpa villain Peter Gillis. She attacks him in both her podcast and the much-watched RTL Boulevard. “It’s just sexist.”
More and more people are starting to dislike that John de Mol has such loose morals when it comes to misbehaving TV stars. His company Talpa is starting to become a bit of the media world’s probationary, with Peter Gillis as the chief villain. What on earth does it take to get his reality series Massa is Kassa off the tube?
Bridget is done with it
Bridget Maasland is fed up with it and decided yesterday, together with her editors, to broadcast RTL Boulevard (608 thousand viewers) with his persistent misconduct. The reason is Nicol Kremers’ decision to report assault after all. She has released shocking photos of it.
The presenter expresses herself quite firmly in her program: “It is getting hotter under the feet of Peter Gillis. Allegations of assault and fines keep piling up for the Massa is Kassa tycoon and so the question arises: how long will SBS 6 stand behind Peter Gillis?”
‘No understanding for’
Angela de Jong is also pulled out of the closet to put pressure on Peter and SBS 6. She says in the show section: “I really have no understanding that SBS 6 is still broadcasting this and that they are still so behind him. They only suffer a loss of image.”
Talpa keeps calling out that the abuse is a ‘private matter’. Rob Goossens: “It’s not. A reality soap is a permanent peek into someone’s private life. If you suddenly start making a distinction; That is not possible. That’s just not possible. In all honesty, I’ve been wondering for a year why they still keep that man on television.
Sexist
Bridget also focuses on voice-over Frank Lammers. “What I personally don’t think is possible? Those are the lyrics, the voiceover I hear all the time. ‘Throw that woman on the stake’ or ‘woman person’ is what I heard when it came to Nicol. It is mega misogynistic.”
Angela: “If I were Frank Lammers, I would have stopped long ago. Then I wouldn’t be able to look at myself in the mirror, knowing that I’m doing the voice-over and participating in a series about that person Peter Gillis. But yes, apparently other things are more important here as well. I think money.”
Frank himself doesn’t care about that: “I do my job and if you don’t appreciate the humor, you can switch to another channel.”
“What’s nice about it?”
Bridget also does not understand the viewers of Massa is Kassa, she says The BLVD Podcast. “What’s so great about that series?! All he does is ride a golf cart and shout ‘hatseflats’.”
Rob: “Yes and that he becomes ‘foxwild’. All of those safe words that people liked once and then he thinks: hey, I should use that more often, and then you will be thrown to death with it.”
Bridget: “It’s mega sexist.”
