Bridget Maasland doesn’t miss Art Rooijakkers at all: ‘It’s really distracting’

You need it from your colleagues: Bridget Maasland delicately emphasizes that she really doesn’t miss Art Rooijakkers as presenter of B&B Vol Liefde. “It’s just a distraction.”

Bridget Maasland thinks it is a positive development that the ratings hit of her home channel RTL 4 is now presentationless. She is very pleased that Art Rooijakkers is no longer there to talk things through. It is actually unnecessary and only distracting, says the presenter The BLVD Podcast.

Without Art

It is a change, says Bridget. “It strikes me that a kind of new style of television programs is being made. So such a B&B Full of Love becomes a success even though there is no presenter. While Farmer Seeks Woman, still slow TV but with a presenter, will do less.”

She continues: “There is a new style in, well, in this case, dating programs. But that actually works better. It’s a bit distracting for a presenter, so you want to get to know those people, get to know those characters and see what happens between the two. And not that someone keeps interjecting: ‘How do you feel?’ or: ‘What do you see in him?’”

‘Show less again’

These were of course the questions that Art asked all those candidates all the time, but Bridget is not looking forward to that at all. “It’s nice that you can see it all for yourself.”

Co-host Luuk Ikink sympathizes with his colleague Art. “Yes, but soon they will also do the same with Expedition Robinson and then Art will have another program that he will be taken off.”

End of the ride

Bridget jokes: “Yes, they will soon do it to us too. We too become holograms eventually. Yes, AI, hahaha. But it strikes me that there has really been a shift and that I also like it.”

She concludes: “And ultimately, at the end of the day, you still need a presenter for the reunion. Then it’s nice that Art comes along in this case and talks about it. But you no longer need that in the program itself.”
