Bridget Maasland did not feel like a ‘play’ in 2016 after a paparazzo photographed her topless in Ibiza. As a result, she ended up on the cover of the Weekend without a bikini top.
It was hard for Bridget Maasland when she was topless on the cover of the gossip magazine Weekend in 2016. In fact, she called it “a little ridiculous.” Own fault, big bump, thought editor-in-chief Bart Ettekoven. “She went topless on one of Ibiza’s most popular beaches. Then you run some risk,” he said at the time.
Calling Bridget
At the time, Bridget indicated that he ‘didn’t like it’ when you stand in line with your son at Albert Heijn ‘that your mother is on the shelves like that’. Bart then again: “Don’t she see them often, I assume, from his own mother? I thought that was a bit naive, she could have imagined herself that she would end up on the cover, right?”
We are now six years later and Bart looks back one last time on the riot of that time. He tells in Show news Summer edition that he still has Bridget way out has bid. “I photographed Bridget and then I called her,” explains the Weekend boss.
“Not a play!”
What did Bart say to Bridget then? “I said, ‘Gosh Bridget, I’ve got these pictures, I can imagine you wouldn’t like them, so would it be okay if we reprint them tomorrow and wear a top? We now know where you are.’”
Bridget, however, did not like that at all. “Then she said: ‘No, I’m not going to participate in that play. They have cost enough, so everyone can see them too.’”

Bart has no problem at all with Bridget lying topless on the beach. “You know, I also grew up with a mom who was always topless on the beach, so I don’t think that’s all that crazy – I think we’re kind of screwed up in this country right now. In the 70s or 80s all women were topless.”
Would he also consider a beach shoot with colleague Patty Brard? “If you stand naked on a crowded beach in Noordwijk or Zandvoort? Yes, whether I would do it is another matter, because I don’t know whether the Netherlands wants to see that,” he sneezes.
Then soon after seeing Patty’s thunderstorm face: “No, no, not to you! But the Netherlands is just very prudish.”

Oh, oh, oh, oh. And that while Patty is once again very hangry (if you are grumpy with hunger, ed.) sat behind the Shownieuws desk. A few minutes before, she became very irritated when the director showed a wrong photo of Madonna.
Patty angrily: “No, these are the pictures of now, guys. Do I have to predict everything?!?!”
