Bricksave: democratizing access to investment in the real estate sector

The advancement of technology brought with it revolutions in all industries and the real estate sector was no exception. In recent years, the well-known crowdfunding platforms that changed the paradigm of real estate investmentsby facilitating access to a sector that used to be reserved for high socioeconomic sectors.

Bricksave was one of the first companies to work with this modality in Latin America. Co-founded in 2016 by the Argentine Sofía Gancedo, the platform allows anyone, anywhere in the world, to invest in residential and finished properties in the US and Europe starting at just $1,000 and earn estimated net annual returns of between 7% and 9%.

In terms of operation, the Bricksave platform combines more than 3,000 data points to identify potential investment properties, which are presented on the website. Users for their part choose how much and where to invest. Once the financing is complete, the property is put up for rent. After four years, or in the event that the property appreciates 20% before the expiration of that term, it is sold and each investor receives a return of the original amount invested plus the corresponding returns, according to the terms and conditions specified in a contract that is signed before starting the process.

“We offer a simple and tangible business model, with safe investment opportunities, backed by real assets, in the strongest currencies in the world and our goal is that everyone can participate, regardless of whether or not their training is in economics and finance”, explains Sofia Gancedo. “To achieve this, we not only designed an easy-to-use platform, but also we take care of all the management: We buy the property, we make it available to investors to fund, we create the link with the tenants and we sell it”, he adds.

Sofía Gancedo, COO and Co-Founder of Bricksave, has a degree in Business Administration from the University of San Andrés and a Master’s in Economics from Eseade. She was selected by Endeavor among the 10 Argentine entrepreneurs of 2022 and awarded by Globant at the Women that Build Awards, 2021 edition.

In addition to crowdfunding, Bricksave investors can also acquire a complete property, with a 100% automated turnkey serviceand estimated returns of between 7% and 9% per year in dollars.

Trust characterizes us. Our good reputation over the years has led to the fact that, in the last two, seven out of ten people decide to invest again in our platform. This figure reflects our work and indicates that we are on the right track”, reflects the businesswoman.

Bricksave already has more than 16,000 registered users, has 222 properties financed, more than 28 million dollars invested and 5 million dollars distributed to investors as returns.

In addition, the company achieved the backing of the Future Fund, a UK government fund, in 2021 as part of an investment round to accelerate its expansion in 2022; and in 2022 that of Graphene Ventures, the leading Venture Capital firm multi stage in high-growth technology companies. The financial support of both funds is added to the capital obtained through Seedrs (the most active startup investment platform in Europe) and international institutions such as Kinled Holding and LAB Miami Venture; with the main objective of strengthening Bricksave’s position as the main crowdfunding site in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Peru, in addition to leveraging the company’s global projection.
