AC/DC singer Brian Johnson was blown away when he first met Paul McCartney. He said so in an interview with radio station QFM96.

When asked if he’s ever met anyone he’s in awe of, he said, “That was Paul McCartney.” The 75-year-old remembered the first meeting with the ex-Beatle, who is only five years older. In conversation, the singer describes that he was absolutely speechless when McCartney started a conversation. He was so stunned at the time that he didn’t know what to say.

At the time, McCartney addressed him with ‘Hello, Geordie’ in relation to his dialect. “I said, ‘Hi Paul. Sir Paul. Your Honor. Your Majesty.’ I didn’t know what to call him! It was so difficult,” Johnson continued. The two musicians became friends despite the initial difficulties.

Here is the interview in full:

Johnson promoted his autobiography The Lives Of Brian. The musician joined AC/DC after the death of singer Bon Scott in the 1980s.
