The Dutch Juniors remain on track for next year’s European Championship. The team of national coach Erwin van de Looi booked a simple 0-3 victory over Young Moldova in Chisinau tonight. Brian Brobbey showed his worth with two goals in the qualifier.
After FC Utrecht’s Quinten Timber had already opened the score in the second minute, Ajax striker Brobbey made 0-2 fifteen minutes later after a nice action. A monster victory seemed in the making, but the home team did not let it get that far. After an hour of play, Brobbey still scored his second of the evening: 0-3.
With two games to go, the Dutch Juniors are the leader in group E with 20 points from 8 games. Switzerland follows one point. The Netherlands still plays at home against Gibraltar (June 7) and away against Wales (June 11). The winner of the group qualifies directly for next year’s European Championship in Romania and Georgia.
