Brewery and supporters association launch FC Emmen beer

‘Hop Emmen Hop’. That is the name of the new, exclusive FC Emmen beer from Brouwerij Bartje. A collaboration between the brewery and Rood-Wit, the FC Emmen supporters’ association.

The beer is exclusive because there are a total of 1,500 bottles available. It is a spicy blond beer, brewed in the Belgian way. The product will be available in a limited number of stores from Friday, regional broadcaster reports SO!34.

The main reason for the creation of the beer is simple: “Continue to promote FC Emmen”, according to Jan Braam, co-owner of the Emmer brewery. Normally brewing a beer is not something that happens overnight, yet this is all last minute settled. “It is something of the past few days, thought up when the promotion was really in sight,” says Braam.

The beer had actually been produced before, purely as a trial. “We had already made these for ourselves, to discover a few things. But then we thought: the FC is much more important than ourselves at the moment.” The beer was therefore provided with an FC Emmen label and a good cause. “For every bottle sold, part of the proceeds goes to the youth of FC Emmen,” says Braam. Not only for scoring talents, but also for enabling and supporting sports among young people.
