Breuninger receives the German Trade Prize 2023

Last Wednesday, the German Trade Awards 2023 were awarded by the German Trade Association (HDE) on the occasion of the ‘German Trade Congress’.

In the medium-sized business category, the German Retail Prize went to the Stuttgart fashion company Breuninger. The traditional company, founded in 1881, operates thirteen department stores in Germany as well as an online shop. Most recently, the company took over the Munich fashion house Konen. Breuninger has made a name for itself in the fashion world by offering international designer brands, among other things. The jury recognized the company’s outstanding performance in implementing online activities as well as in its further strategic orientation with stationary expansion, innovative formats and the focus on the customer experience. The success of the individual and personalized offers, the additional services and the competent advice is reflected in the close customer loyalty, according to the HDE’s justification.

Other award winners included the Rewe Group in the large company category and Dieter Schwarz (Schwarz Group with Lidl and Kaufland) received the Lifetime Award.
