Brentford FC have extended Rico Henry’s contract, which originally ran until 2023. The 24-year-old left-back signed a new working paper with the promoted team until June 30, 2026. “Rico made the step into the Premier League seamlessly. He’s fantastic defensively,” said coach Thomas Frank. “He had a great time here. He has been here for a long time and we are happy that he wants to develop further with us.”
Henry joined the Bees from Walsall FC in the summer of 2016, for whom he has made 151 appearances (four goals) to date. At 24, the second-most valuable defender in the squad, with a market value of €15m, is the longest-serving Brentford professional. “There’s still a lot we need to work on, but it’s great that he’s going to continue this development with us,” said Frank.
