Brentdorf signs Strakosha after Lazio contract ends – doubts about Raya’s whereabouts

Most valuable free transfer keeper

The most valuable non-club goalkeeper is off the market. Thomas Strakosha, whose contract with Lazio expired after ten years on June 30, joins Brentford FC. The “Bees” confirmed the 27-year-old’s signature until 2026 on Thursday.

The commitment of Strakosha should further fuel discussions about the future of David Raya (26). The Spaniard has increased his market value in recent years as a regular keeper of last year’s Premier League promoted to 22 million euros and is said to have turned down an offer to extend his contract, which ends in 2024, in May.

Even if there are currently no concrete negotiations with other clubs, Strakosha would now be a potential replacement. The keeper made 208 appearances for Lazio, conceding 247 goals and keeping 62 clean sheets.
