In the latest episode of Rich, penniless may Ahmed and Brendelie’s family leave all their worries behind for a while. They deserved it after a few turbulent years. Ahmed went bankrupt, which caused him to incur debts. Brendelie also ended up in debt restructuring because she never learned to handle money properly. That is why they now have to get by with a family with five children on € 100 per week. No fat pot.
Mari van de Ven in Steenrijk, penniless
Now the family does have that fat pot for once. They are allowed to break € 1800 in a nice week. They go shopping, eat luxuriously and visit the hairdresser. And that’s not just any hairdresser. None other than Mari van de Ven is allowed to give Brendelie a makeover. She is quite impressed by that. “I’m really excited that he’s going to cut my hair,” she says. A little later she expresses her enthusiasm and nerves to Mari. “I get nervous when I look at you. You are so famous.”
Curls and kitchen scissors
Mari unleashes his magic on Brendelie, who now wants curls. Normally, husband Ahmed cuts the family with kitchen scissors. “Great!” says Mari. The sons also get a flashy haircut.
a superstar
The treatment is like a dream for Brendelie. With five children there is hardly time for this kind of me-time. “It is important to take time for yourself”, Mari therefore tells her. “Your eyelashes, and that you do your hair…” It seems that Brendelie would like that. She is lyrical about this wonderful afternoon. “I really feel like a superstar,” she says. “I really love it. I was emotional and really had to hold back.” The hairdresser outing was the highlight of the week for Brendelie. And the warm words with which Mari says goodbye, she can put in her pocket. “You are a very beautiful family.”
