A new transport plan has been in force in Bredene since last summer. Seven bus stops were then deleted and an adjustment to two city lines means that you can no longer go directly from Bredene to the Vuurtorenwijk in Ostend. A wheelchair-friendly shuttle bus from the municipality now provides a good connection between the Groenendijk and Duinenzichterf stops three days a week.
“We have looked together with De Lijn at how we can solve this structurally, but you can only spend a euro once. It is mainly the Flemish government that is letting the local authorities and the people down,” the municipality said.
