Breakwaters closed & provincial domains closed: this is how we prepare for storm
In Ostend and Blankenberge breakwaters and picket fences are closed. In the whole province the provincial domains will also be closed. Gusts of gusts of 120 to 150 kilometers per hour are expected. Tomorrow storm Eunice will pass over our country.
Measures on the coast: “Avoid beach & seawall”
The necessary measures are also being taken in West Flanders, and especially by the sea. For example, from February 17 to February 19, 8.00 a.m. the breakwaters will be entered Ostend locked. Sports park De Schorre is not accessible on Friday 18 February. In Blankenberge the walkway to the Pier and the two picket fences will be closed from Friday afternoon. The Albert Park will be closed and a parking ban applies in K. Boudewijnlaan because there are old trees there.
It is generally recommended not to go for walks in parks and not to park cars under trees. It is also recommended to avoid the seawall and the beach. Governor Decaluwé also asks for caution for tower cranes.
Storm #eunice is coming. The RMI predicts heavy from Friday 18 to Saturday night 19 February #storm and announces code orange.#Province domains are closed on Friday and Saturday.
