A National Team captain Muhammed Altunay reminded that they were matched with hosts Lithuania, Israel and Northern Ireland in Group D of the 2024 FIFA World Cup European Qualification Round.
Stating that the preparations are going well, Muhammed said, “There has been a generational change now. A younger squad is being formed. We are trying to catch a better and better generation in order to win the next years. We are trying to establish the system we will create with new players. For now, everything is fine, productive. but our work will continue.” he said.
Noting that they want to pass the preliminary qualifying round, Muhammed said:
“Our goal is to get out of the group. Then it will be the last 32 rounds. There the groups are played as away and home. We really want to stay here. We think we can pass the qualifying round. I hope we will play a head-to-head match with Lithuania and beat the other teams and leave the group.”
“WE BELIEVE WE WILL BE SUCCESSFUL”
Talha Can Vardar, one of the national players, said that he is happy to wear the crescent-star jersey for 5 years. Emphasizing that they are confident in themselves, Talha Can said:
“Under the leadership of our teacher Murat, I hope we will be successful in the World Cup qualifications in Lithuania. Two years ago, we played the European Championship qualifications again in Lithuania. We came out as the third best on average. Hungary was the first, Lithuania was the second, we were the third best. Again in the North “We also had Ireland in our group. We shot almost the same group. There is an Israel with a difference. We will go to Lithuania again. We believe in ourselves, we aim to complete the next camps in the best way possible and leave the group.”

Melih Kaan Özkul, one of the national players, also stated that the preparatory camps went well. Stating that young players participated in the camp, Melih used the following statements:
“We will complete this process in the best way and start ready for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Our group is actually a vigorous and lively group. Our goal is to get out of the qualifiers and take part in the main group of the World Cup. That’s why we will go to the field. The teams in the main group will be stronger, but as I said, we are the young team. We have many years ahead of us. At least, we will adapt together and represent our country in the best way in this process.”
