Galatasaray, which is in the 13th place in Spor Toto Super League and has a difference of only 3 points from its relegation pot, ranks first in the league in terms of broadcasting income.
The yellow-red team, which was able to get only 1 win in the last 13 weeks in the league and 7 wins in the past 24 weeks, has earned 167.8 million liras from broadcasting revenue.
Trabzonspor, which has only one defeat and is in the leadership seat by winning 17 of 24 matches, and also outperforming Galatasaray by 29 points, earns 129.5 million liras.
LARGE SLICES OF THE CAKE 3 TO THE LARGE
Besiktas and Fenerbahce, which are far away from the championship race this season, have also put more income than the leader Trabzonspor.
Fenerbahçe, which is 20 points behind the leader and ranked 6th, is in the second place in the classification with an income of 164.3 million liras.
Beşiktaş, which has the same points as the yellow-dark blue team and can find a place for itself in the 7th place with average, has reached a profit of 151.8 million liras.
ANATOLIAN TEAMS HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED WITH SMALL SLICES
Competing with a modest budget compared to the big clubs, Konyaspor, which is in the 2nd place in the league with a difference of 20 points to Galatasaray and 11 points to Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe, despite a match shortage, has achieved 95.6 million liras from its broadcasting revenue so far.
Adana Demirspor, which rose to the Super League this season and closed the 24th week in the 3rd place with 40 points, was able to reach 88.1 million liras of income.
Despite being a district team, Alanyaspor, which has always been at the top in recent years and ranked 4th this season, has barely reached half the income of Galatasaray with 86.6 million liras.
As of the 24th week of the Super League, the distribution of broadcasting revenue to the clubs is as follows:

11 PERCENT “CHAMPIONS’ SHARE” BREAK THE BALANCE
The pool system has been used in broadcasting revenue distribution for years. Accordingly, after 4% of the revenue from the broadcaster is allocated to the federation and 14% to a lower league, the remaining amount is divided between the Super League teams.
While this distribution is being made, 37 percent is allocated equally to each team as the participation fee.
The 46 percent portion is distributed according to the wins and draws of the teams.
Only 6 percent of the revenue is allocated to the teams that finished the league in the top 6 places, while 11 percent is divided among the teams that have won the championship in the past.
Thus, the obvious superiority of Galatasaray, which has won 22 championships in the past, Fenerbahçe, which has 19 championships, and Beşiktaş, which has reached a happy ending 16 times, draws attention.
GALATASARAY’S CHAMPIONSHIP SHARE 91.5 MILLION LIRA
In the distribution of the total broadcasting cost of 3 billion liras, each club that wins the league puts 4.16 million liras per championship in its vault.
Galatasaray, which has 22 championship trophies in its museum, has earned 91.5 million liras from this item.
In the same item, Fenerbahçe is the owner of 79 million liras with 19 championships, while Beşiktaş has 66.6 million liras with 16 championships.
While Trabzonspor can reach only 24.9 million liras from this income with 6 championships, Başakşehir with one championship and Bursaspor, which is in a sub-cluster, can each get 4.16 million liras.
Except for Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, Trabzonspor and Başakşehir, the remaining 15 teams in the Super League have to pass this item.
RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE 45 MILLION, WINNING PRIZE 3 MILLION LIRA
According to the distribution of broadcasting income, each club has the right to participate in the amount of 45 million TL.
Clubs earning 2.97 million lira for each win, split this amount in draws.
Thus, a team that has not won a championship in the past needs to win 30 wins in the league in order to reach the prize money (91.5 million liras) that Galatasaray receives from its championship share.
THE AWARD OF THE CHAMPION TEAM 45 MILLION LIRA
Galatasaray (91.5), Fenerbahçe (79) and Beşiktaş (66.6) won a total of 237 million liras from the championship share, while a total of 147 million liras will be distributed to the teams that will finish the season in the top 6 places.
The club, which will end the season as the champion, will earn 46 million liras. This amount corresponds to almost half of Galatasaray’s championship share.
The second team in the league will receive 38, the third team 29, the fourth team 20, the fifth team 9 and the sixth team 5 million TL.
NO PRIVILEGES TO THE CHAMPIONS OF PREVIOUS YEARS IN EUROPE
While only 37 percent of the broadcasting income in Turkey is distributed equally as participation fee, this rate is 50 percent in Europe.
Looking at the five big leagues of Europe, 50 percent of the income is shared equally among all clubs in England, Germany, Italy, Spain and France.
Other parts of the income are distributed in the light of criteria such as the points the clubs will get in the current season, their performance in the last 5 years, box office revenues, number of ticketed spectators, viewership rates, and the number of matches broadcast live.
None of the leagues in question has a share of the championships won in the past years, as in Turkey.
