Breakfast: better to divide it into two moments
The nutritionists of the team Smartfood of the Ieo-European Institute of Oncology in Milan advise to divide breakfast into two moments: before training, a fruit or dried fruit and a small portion of wholemeal bread may be sufficient, in order to have the necessary energy thanks to complex carbohydrates.
After sporting activity, the meal is completed with a protein source, such as yoghurt, milk or soy drink.
The salty alternative
For a late morning savory alternative, perfect fromchickpea hummus with raw vegetables such as celery, peppers, carrots and cherry tomatoes. «When you practice physical activity, you must always ensure that your body is well hydrated, especially if the exercise is intense and prolonged» reads the Smartfood website. “So we have to drink water before, during and after training”.
