National player Thomas Müller hopes that top scorer Robert Lewandowski, who is willing to emigrate, will stay with record champion Bayern Munich.
“I would like my long-term offensive partner to stay,” said the 2014 world champion in the “kicker” interview.
The recent disagreement between Lewandowski and the Bayern management is not necessarily a break: “It’s a break and we’ve experienced a lot during these times, I’m just reminding you of Franck Ribéry’s request to move to Real Madrid,” said Müller .
One thing is certain: “Every player who is still under contract in Munich on September 1 will also want to play well. Because playing badly is no fun for any player.”
Lewandowski: “My story at Bayern is over”
Lewandowski wants to leave Munich, probably switch to FC Barcelona – immediately, although his contract is still valid for one season.
“My story at Bayern is over. I can’t imagine another good partnership,” he said on Monday.
He hopes Bayern will not “keep him just because they can. A transfer is the best solution for all sides.” FC Bayern does not want to let Lewandowski go so far.
