Reporter Thomas Brood has a very big mouth on the sports editors of NH, but after the recordings of Bread and Games he often sings a little lower. This time, Brood will visit the baseball-players of Amsterdam Pirates. “Maybe you should start playing marbles”, says coach Mervin Gario after the warm-up.
Then he goes into the far field for some practice. With player Roelie Henrique it is about Henrique’s remarkable training clothes. “Training is a fashion show. Then we don’t wear a uniform”, Henrique responds, wearing colorful shorts.
The reporter’s sunglasses are also discussed. “I think your sunglasses are swaggy. I love it,” says Henrique positively.
Bet?
From the far field, the men move to the infield and then to the batting cage. “He does his best and is very fanatical. He still has to learn the rules,” says batting coach Dirk van ‘t Klooster.
At the end of practice, Brood makes a bet with Pirates-player Kenny Berkenbosch. If the NH Sport reporter manages to hit the ball into the infield in one go, Berkenbosch has to do 50 push-ups. Will Brood manage to do that?
