In a new episode of Brood and Games, NH Sport reporter Thomas Brood visits the table tennis players of TTV Noordkop. Brood tries to master table tennis with the help of former European champion Ana Gogorita.
Before the reporter starts hitting balls, he first gets a warm-up. That’s not easy for Brood. “I almost tear off my ankle ligaments,” he responds after the warm-up.
The reporter competes against Peter Overbosch. The 74-year-old trainer does not play with a table tennis bat, but with an old-fashioned soap box. “If I don’t win this, I’ll walk home. An old man with a soap box, that should work, right?” Brood shouts with bravado.
