Brazilian players arrived home from Ukraine

São Paulo (AP) – After their problematic departure from Ukraine, a group of Brazilian soccer players are back in Brazil with their relatives.

The entourage of around 40 people arrived at the airports in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, as shown on Brazilian television. Kolos Kovalivka’s Renan Oliveira and Shakhtar Donetsk’s Maicon reported days of uncertainty and fear.

“The moment of greatest tension was when we left the hotel. Air raid sirens, the sound of machine guns. We didn’t know if we would make it to the train station,” the “G1” quoted physiotherapist Luciano Rosa as saying. According to the news portal, other Brazilian footballers in Ukraine tried to leave the country. More than 30 Brazilian players have signed with Ukrainian top division clubs.
