The victim who died in a brawl between members of rival motorcycle clubs in Péronnes (Antoing, province of Hainaut) was hit twice by a vehicle. This is evident from the autopsy, reports the public prosecutor of Bergen. One person has been arrested. The incident happened on the opening night of Chapiteau de Peronnesa festive event that brings young farmers together.

The victim is a man born in 1973. He was hit once by the vehicle, which then made a U-turn and hit the victim again. The public prosecutor’s office assumes intent and premeditation and therefore the investigation is based on attempted murder.
Another man, who was hit with a hammer during the fight, was injured but his life is not in danger. The initial findings of the investigation show that it concerns a settlement between two motorcycle gangs. The witnesses are currently being questioned. A man has been arrested, the prosecutor said.
The emergency services arrived on Friday night around 1.30 am on the Chemin de St-Druon in Péronnes. There was a party going on in a tent, organized by a professional organization for young farmers. In the course of the evening a gang of motorcyclists arrived. They immediately attacked a man outside the tent. After beating up the victim, the perpetrators fled. About a thousand people were in the party tent at the time of the brawl. They were evacuated by the police through an emergency exit.
By order of the police, all festivities have been canceled this weekend.
