Brauckman takes third Dutch junior powerlifting title in a row

POWERLIFTEN – Janneke Brauckman (23) from Emmen has become Dutch junior champion in powerlifting for the third time in her career. She came to a total weight of 407.5 kilos over the three parts: squat, deadlift and bench press.

“I am very satisfied. I immediately qualified for the world championship. For that I had to reach at least 400 kilos and that was more than successful”, Brauckman responds afterwards.

“In addition, in the bench press, I improved my personal best from 105 kilos to 107.5 kilos. Because I was so ahead of the competition, I could take risks in the deadlift and I tried 175 kilos. But that was really too much. heavy for now.”

But the 165 kilos, which she had already lifted on the deadlift, was also more than enough for the overall victory. On the squat, Brauckman came to 135 kilos.

The powerhouse from Emmen now has until the end of August to prepare for the world championship in Ecuador. That is her last major competition in the junior class.

In contrast to last year, when she became Dutch champion in the class up to 57 kilograms, today she took the title in the class up to 63 kilograms in Weert. She also won her very first Dutch title in the -63 kilo class.

The silver went to Astrid Haitsma with 360 kilos and the bronze went to Whitney Nedd with 352.5 kilos.
