Brandenburg state parliament wants to relieve commuters

Electricity, gas and oil prices are exploding. Bad for Brandenburg’s commuters. But only the federal government can help.

The prices for electricity, gas and petrol are increasing every day. Brandenburg’s parliament is now demanding tax cuts and financial aid from the federal government.

Hundreds of thousands commute to work every day, every third person in the country lives on the minimum wage. “The commuter costs have increased by a third in one year,” said CDU faction leader Jan Redmann. Sebastian Walter (left): “Every household pays 2,000 euros more for energy.”

All parties are calling for energy taxes to be reduced, while the CDU is calling for the mileage allowance to be increased from 30 to 38 cents. Only the federal government can decide on this. She raised the minimum wage on Wednesday. The EEG levy on electricity will fall soon.
