A group of Reich citizens around the Brandenburg accountant Sven B. (54) wanted to kidnap Karl Lauterbach (59, SPD) and take over power in Germany – the terrorist gang was broken up in April.
Now “Der Spiegel” reports on statements by Sven B., citing his lawyer.
► They wanted to kidnap Lauterbach with Kalashnikovs and then “announce his arrest warrant” in front of the cameras. Then he was to be held captive for some time.
► Hundreds of Reichsbürger buddies were to hold a “constitutive meeting to restore the German Reich’s ability to act”.
►A doppelganger of Chancellor Scholz or Federal President Steinmeier should appear in public and confirm the “legitimacy of the overthrow”.

► A nationwide blackout should shut down media.
► They hoped to get support from “parts of the police and the Bundeswehr” and wanted to get Vladimir Putin’s approval.
