New Corona record in Brandenburg! Now day-care centers should again give priority to children whose parents work in the “critical infrastructure”.
Children of police and firefighters, doctors, nurses, water and utility companies and others are entitled to emergency care. All other parents have to look after their little ones themselves if the day care center runs out of staff.
However, only 37 of the 2000 daycare centers are currently fully or partially closed. Only 577 out of 23,000 educators are missing – 2.5 percent.
Because Brandenburg’s incidence has risen to 1385, Interior Minister Michael Stübgen (62, CDU) rebuffed the demand for easing. The cabinet decided that the Corona regulation will remain unchanged except for emergency care.
The ministers only want to decide on new rules in the middle of the month next Tuesday.
