Brand burns historic castle in De Panne to ashes

Shortly after the fire broke out, metre-high flames shot through the roof of a side wing. The roof of the side wing even collapsed completely after a short time. The three residents were taken to the hospital in Veurne for a check-up. Several corps from the region were sent to the scene with ladder trucks and fire trucks. The fire was under control after an hour, but the historic building is temporarily uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
