Bram Moszkowicz thinks that the Public Prosecution Service is annoyed by Tim Hofman

Bram Moszkowicz thinks that Tim Hofman is causing quite a bit of annoyance at the Public Prosecution Service by talking out loud about the man who wanted to kill him. “Premature.”

Quite a shock for Tim Hofman: last month a man walked into the BNNVARA building with a firearm with the aim of killing him. Last week he released a half-hour special from BOOS about this, containing the images and possible motives of this confused man.

Bram has doubts

Doesn’t that happen very quickly? Wouldn’t it be better to leave that to the police and the judiciary? Bram Moszkowicz thinks so. “Look, it’s not an Investigation Requested, is it? Then people start watching a certain program to find the perpetrator. The perpetrator is already in custody here,” says the fallen criminal lawyer Show news.

So there is no urgent reason to come up with such a special, Bram believes. “That man is behind bars. I wonder whether the Public Prosecution Service is happy with what Tim is saying and whether it is wise.”

Early

Colleague Ronald Molendijk also thinks Tim is a bit premature. “The process is still ongoing, the investigation, the interrogations. It all still has to happen. It was only last month too. I find it strange that you are watching something (…) presented by the victim. That you tell your own story so early.”

Story boss Guido den Aantrekker: “We also wondered whether it is the normal course of events that if something like this happens to you, and such a man is also arrested, that you immediately, before the case is even dealt with was taken by the Public Prosecution Service, such a broadcast.”

What does Tim say?

How does Tim himself view this? He responds: “The Public Prosecution Service knows about it, it is also in the broadcast. Journalists never ask permission from the Public Prosecution Service, which goes against all journalistic codes and democratic values.”

He continues: “If your question is whether our broadcast is obstructing justice, our legal department, my lawyer and all other advisors have no indication of this. It is beyond dispute that journalists are always allowed to do their work, and that we have guaranteed the suspect’s privacy.”

‘OM is not happy’

Bram thinks it’s a nonsense reaction. “In general, what he says is not always true, because there are programs that are reluctant because there is also a criminal investigation underway. That is the order of the day, that as a program you do not show everything because there is still a criminal investigation underway.”

Bram thinks that the Public Prosecution Service is annoyed by Tim. “I really wonder whether the Public Prosecution Service is happy with what has been broadcast at the stage this criminal case is at. It could be that the most important things were not released in consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, then you won’t hear me, but when I hear Tim’s statement like this, he actually says: I decide for myself what I think is good.”
