The coach of the Portuguese team who will be the Azzurri’s next opponents in the Champions League speaks: “I have great respect for the Italian champions, but as always we will play on the attack and with our heads held high”
Artur Jorge’s story is told through his hobby. When he isn’t scribbling in his notebook he takes his bicycle and goes to the mountains, up and down the dirt road with his helmet and dark glasses. He says that fatigue relaxes him, which may sound strange, but his path is the poster child for a slow and successful climb. In 2010 he coached Famalicão in the fourth division, lost the playoff final to move up to the third against the man who has now become his assistant. Until a couple of seasons ago he led the Under 23 team of Sporting Braga, “the team of a life for life”, as he reveals to us with a smile.
