The Oscar winner is set to star in the film about a porn video critic.
Quentin Tarantino will probably make his last film with “The Movie Critic”. And now it’s apparently clear that Brad Pitt will be part of the cast. The two have previously worked together on “Inglourious Basterds” and “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,” the latter of which also earned Pitt an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
The casting of the roles is not yet clear
“Deadline” published the cast and wrote that Brad Pitt had recently signed on for the film. It is not yet known what role he will play. There is also no official confirmation from the filmmakers yet. Last year it was revealed that Tarantino was looking for a “new leading man” aged 35, so it’s unlikely the 60-year-old will take on the role.
This is what is known so far about “The Movie Critic”.
The Tarantino film is set in California in 1977 and is about a man who writes film reviews for a porn magazine. This character is based on a story from the American director’s youth. As a teenager, Quentin Tarantino was loading porn magazines into a vending machine and came across a critic who particularly appealed to him because of his harsh and funny manner.
The filmmaker told Deadline: “The critic was very, very funny. He was very rude and cursed. He used racist language. But his shit was really funny.” Accordingly, Tarantino’s last work could be polarizing.
The cinema release is currently planned for 2025.
