Bracken Darrell becomes the new CEO

The US clothing group VF Corporation has a new boss.

The parent company of brands including Vans, The North Face and Timberland has appointed Bracken Darrell as CEO and president, VF announced on Tuesday. The designated managing director will take up his new role on July 17.

Since December, VF Corp has been looking for a new CEO after CEO, Chairman and President Steve Rendle left the company after six years. Benno Dorer, who was born in Furtwangen in the Black Forest, was appointed interim CEO and President at the time, and now VF has found a permanent solution in Darrell. Dorer will remain with the Group as a member of the Management Board.

“VF’s board of directors could not be happier with the appointment of Bracken as the 12th CEO in VF’s 124-year history,” said Richard Carucci, newly appointed chairman of the board of VF. “Because of his strong leadership skills and extensive international experience, he is well suited to work alongside and guide VF’s leadership team and 35,000 talented employees around the world to lead the company into an exciting new future.”

Darrell joins VF from Logitech. He also served there as Managing Director and President for ten years. During his time at the computer and software maker, he transformed Logitech’s business by launching more than 20 product categories, growing its market cap tenfold and more than doubling sales, the statement said. Before joining Logitech, the manager held various management positions at Procter & Gamble, Whirlpool Corporation and General Electric.

“It is an honor and privilege to serve as President and CEO of VF,” said Darrell. “Like millions of people around the world, I love VF’s iconic brands. I am very impressed with the capability of this company ” has consistently brought its portfolio of brands to the forefront of culture throughout its 124-year history. I look forward to working closely with VF’s board, leadership team and talented people to capitalize on ongoing initiatives to strengthen… Building business performance and driving strong and sustainable growth and shareholder value creation I can’t wait to get to work.”
