Almost a quarter (24.6 percent) of all houses in our province have solar panels. That is almost 30 percent more than in 2021. Nowhere in the Netherlands has the number of solar panels grown as fast as in Brabant. This is the conclusion of comparison website Independer from figures from Statistics Netherlands and Climate Monitor.
There are currently about 286,700 houses with solar panels in Brabant. Leaders are:
- Eindhoven: 22,717 houses with solar panels
- Tilburg: 18,882
- Den Bosch: 15,235
Someren has relatively the most solar panels. There, 36.3 percent of the houses have solar panels.
The municipalities in Brabant with the most houses with solar panels in proportion:
- Someren: 36.3 percent
- Maashorst: 35.8 percent
- Heeze-Leende: 35.3 percent
- Son en Breugel: 35 percent
- Best: 34.5 percent
The residents of Boekel have invested the most in solar energy between 2021 and 2022. There, the number of houses with solar panels increased by almost half: from 1000 to 1500 homes.
