Although the championship title was just won on the home stretch, FC Bayern is parting ways with CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. Jan-Christian Dreesen will become the new CEO.
“The decision to separate from Oliver Kahn was anything but easy for the supervisory board,” said President Herbert Hainer: “Nevertheless, due to the overall development, we came to the decision to make a new appointment at the top of the board.”
“Different Opinions”
The president explained the separation from Salihamidzic with the course of the “season after the winter break” and “different views on the future direction of the team”.
The dismissal of Kahn and his long-time teammate Salihamidzic was decided in the run-up to the decisive game at an extraordinary meeting of the Supervisory Board that was called at short notice.
On Sunday at 11.30 a.m., President Hainer and the new CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, will answer reporters’ questions. BR24Sport broadcasts the PK in a live stream!
