The BR Volleys once again missed the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The German series champions lost 3-0 (19:25, 20:25, 22:25) to co-favorites Trentino Volley from Italy in the quarter-final second leg on Thursday. The capital club also clearly lost the first leg 3-0 in their own stadium.
As in the past three years, the volleys in the premier class ended in the round of the top eight – each time against an Italian team. The Berliners were eliminated against Trentino in 2021 and 2022, and against champions Perugia in 2023.
On Sunday (4:15 p.m. / Dyn) coach Joel Banks’ team will be defending their title in the DVV Cup. In Mannheim the Volleys meet the WWK Volleys Herrsching, who are in the final for the first time in the club’s history.
