The Berlin Volleys won the three-day Volleyball Supercup tournament in Hildesheim.
In the final, the defending champion won confidently against arch rivals VfB Friedrichshafen 3-0 (25:21, 25:22, 25:18). In front of 1,530 spectators, Czech Republic national player Marek Sotola in particular was unstoppable by the opponent. The diagonal volley attacker scored 20 points alone.
The second best scorer for the winner was the Frenchman Timothee Carle with 13 points. The Friedrichshafen team proved to be tough opponents in the first two sets. It was only in the final section that the Berliners dominated and pulled away with six points at 14:8.
