After an injury break of around seven weeks, team captain Angel Trinidad will return to team training with the German volleyball champions Berlin Volleys on Monday.
The doctors treating him gave the green light after a medical check-up on Friday. The 29-year-old player Trinidad suffered a metacarpal fracture in mid-November in the Champions League game at Halkbank Ankara (1: 3) and had to have an operation.
It is still uncertain when the Spanish international can play again.
“Of course, after the long break, he will be brought back very carefully,” the club told dpa on Friday. However, Trinidad can be expected again for the second round of the Bundesliga, which starts on February 4th. Currently occupied John Tille the player position for the volleys.
After Trinidad’s injury, the club had signed Australian Arash Donsanjh as a second setter just to be on the safe side. However, his contract expires on January 31st.
