Bpifrance opens a fund for individuals

Bpifrance recently opened a new investment fund. After the success of the Bpifrance Entreprises 1 (BE1) fund launched in September 2020, here is Bpifrance Entreprises 2 (BE2). It is already open to subscription, with an entry ticket starting at €3,000.

Allowing individuals to support French companies, this is the role played by the BE1 and BE2 funds. More accessible than its big brother, the entrance ticket for BE2 is lowered to €3,000, against €5,000 previously. The goal is to open up to an even wider audience. ” You can invest only a few thousand euros, whereas the usual entry ticket is 100,000 or 150,000 euros,” explains Nicolas Dufourcq, CEO of Bpifrance. On the annual return side, a score between 5% and 7% is announced.

BE2’s portfolio includes 1,500 companies, drawn from 126 venture capital funds in which the public investment bank has already participated, or which it manages directly. Logically, among the 11 categories, it is technology companies that make up the largest share of the portfolio (24%), followed by startups and SMEs in health (16%), and B2B services (13%).

This investment product directs French savings towards the long-term financing of businesses. Each individual who invests 3,000 euros in the fund will mobilize two euros for each of the 1,500 companies that make it up. In line with its mission, Bpifrance intends to energize the private equity market and wishes to see other similar initiatives emerging soon in France and Europe.,” concludes Nicolas Dufourcq.

To subscribe to the Bpifrance Entreprises 2 fund, individuals can go directly to the Bpifrance website, or contact their bank, or any other contact dedicated to investment.
