Boys from Zaandam detained longer for sending threatening e-mails to secondary school

The two boys that Saturday have been arrested on suspicion of sending threatening e-mails to an educational institution in Zaandam, will remain in custody for at least two weeks. The court has just ruled that. Three schools closed for a day because of threatening texts.

In the email dated Monday, April 3 it said that the Pascal South, on the edge of the Poelenburg district, is ‘going to the cancer’ and there would be bloodied people lying on the floor. This will be the worst day of your lifeaccording to the message, photos of which are circulating online.

The first arrested suspect, a minor from Zaandam, has already been arrested quickly released and is no longer suspicious. But two others, also under the age of eighteen and from Zaandam, were heard by the police and today placed in custody by the judge for two weeks.

Limits

So-called restrictions still apply. This means that the two are not allowed to have contact with the outside world. Lawyers also do not reveal anything about their client’s affairs at that stage. Whether the Zaandammers are secondary school students therefore remains unclear.

The Public Prosecution Service informs NH that it will also make further statements due to the young age of the suspects.

In general, suspects spend the first few days in a police cell and would now go to a detention center, presumably in a youth institution. There will be another review in two weeks to see if there is evidence to keep the boys longer.
