On Thursday evening (February 1st), Boygenius announced a break during a concert in Los Angeles. According to the X-post on a fansite, the supergroup has said goodbye “for the foreseeable future.”

The trio, made up of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, played a “secret” concert to a small audience ahead of the Grammys. According to the X account @boygeniussource, Dacus announced that the performance would be her last, “and we feel that way too,” she added. The indie rock band member later announced their last song, which Baker commented with “not forever”. Boygenius have not yet commented on the alleged break.
The band is nominated for six Grammys in 2024, including Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album for “The Record.” They are also nominated for Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for their track “Not Strong Enough.” The music award ceremony will take place on February 4th in Los Angeles.
