An 8-year-old boy was threatened and harassed by an adult man last Sunday. The incident took place around 4 p.m. on the Spaarnekade. When the police arrived, the suspect was nowhere to be seen, but they did share a description of him with NH.
The police cannot say exactly what happened between the boy and the man, but “there was certainly evidence that the boy was threatened and harassed.” The boy eventually started running to escape the man.

Every trace of the suspect had disappeared when the police arrived at Spaarnekade, the street where the boy was harassed. They were able to put together a description of the man, says a spokesperson: “It is said to be a light-skinned man with short, dark frizzy hair, around 1.80 meters tall. He was wearing a dark-colored jacket and green trousers.”
A few days before the boy was threatened, the police received a report about a man who was allegedly staying at an after-school care center in Haarlem. The police spokesperson emphasizes that there was no threatening situation and that there is currently no reason to establish a link between the two incidents.
