Boy (6) missing at the water, police share name and photo

The police searched until four o’clock on Wednesday night for the 6-year-old boy who is missing at recreational lake De Lithse Ham in Lith. The search will continue on Thursday, police said. A name and a photo of the boy have now been shared.

The boy disappeared around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. The police write that the boy, named Abdyrahman Ashirov, may have left in the direction of the water. He wears gray short swimming trunks with two vertical red stripes on both sides. The boy is on foot.

“It is unclear what happened to the boy. He may have walked into the water, but could also be elsewhere in the area,” a police spokesman said.

Playing on the beach
Divers from the fire brigade searched the water on Wednesday, the entire area has been combed. The Veterans Search Team also helped. The police also sent a message via Burgernet with the description of the boy.

His parents informed the Brabants Dagblad on Wednesday that they come from Turkmenistan and that the boy cannot swim. They sat on the beach while the little boy played in the water. After that he was not seen again, writes the newspaper.

To the other side
On Wednesday evening, a 54-year-old man also disappeared in a recreational lake in Eersel. He was also searched in vain for him. According to the man’s family, he wanted to swim to the other side of the puddle, but he never got out of the water.
