A 16-year-old boy from Tilburg had a lot of fun on Sunday night when he rode around on a scooter. He was chased by police because he ignored a stop sign. The boy sped through Tilburg at ninety kilometers per hour, but the police still caught him. The scooter rider has received six fines.
The police saw the boy driving around on the Lage Witsiebaan around a quarter past one. He drove around without lights. Officers therefore decided to stop him.
But the scooter rider had no intention of stopping. He drove away at high speed, sometimes going over the sidewalk at up to ninety kilometers per hour. What followed was a short chase. Ultimately, the police managed to arrest the boy on the Goirkekanaaldijk.
The boy received a total of six tickets. Partly because he did not have a driver’s license, drove without lights, did not indicate directions and was driving too fast. He was also fined for ignoring a stop sign and for driving a moped on a cycle path. The boy’s father has been informed of his adventures.
The scooter was taken to the police station for investigation. The police suspect that a heavier engine block has been mounted on it. This allows a scooter to drive faster.
