A 16-year-old boy was assaulted and robbed at the Buitenlanden in Beverwijk around 8 p.m. last night. Two 17-year-old boys have been arrested, a police spokesman said. They come from Amsterdam and Alkmaar.
The victim was suddenly hit on the head at the exit of the Beverwijkse Bazaar on Sunday evening, according to the police. He turns and sees two boys. They force him to hand over his personal belongings.
The two abuse him and then leave with his belongings. A police spokesman said the 16-year-old teenager suffered minor injuries.
After the assault and robbery, the police in the area arrested two teenagers, one from Alkmaar (17) and one from Amsterdam (17). They have been transferred to the police station. A police spokesman said the detectives are investigating the case.
