South African boxer Simiso Buthelezi, 24, has died after a tragic incident at a hospital with a brain injury. The matter was confirmed by the South African Boxing Federation BSA.

On Twitter, a video of Buthelez circulated in the boxing ring, where he suddenly lost his sense of reality in a lightweight championship match and blows into the empty air.

Buthelezi had already hit the ropes with his opponents, but as the men continued the match, Buthelezi turned in a completely different direction and began to box the air.

The match was stopped immediately and Buthelezi was taken to hospital. He was placed in a coma, but a brain injury and the resulting cerebral hemorrhage caused the death of the boxer.

According to the coach, Buthelezi was completely healthy before the match. In the match, he did not suffer severe blows to the head.

The BSA said they will conduct an independent investigation into the case.
